LANDLINES
5th November – 19th December
Curated by Alannah Robins at Galleri Duerr
Claire McLaughlin, Ceara Conway, Dolores Lyne, Jo Killalea, Kevin Griffin, Noelle Gallagher and Sarah Ellen Lundy
This is exhibition is supported by Culture Ireland as part of the EU Council presidency programme.
Landlines gathers work by seven Irish artists, all living and working on the West coast of Ireland, in a remote landscape, characterised by extensive areas of bog (peatland) and coastline, exposed to the unrelenting wind and rains moving in from the Atlantic. The artists are all members of Interface, an arts organisation which has, at its core, an ambition to build community in and connected to this space. Much of Interface’s programming is concerned with ecology and relationship with place.
The works in this exhibition explore this relationship through a range of lenses, historical and economic, emotional and poetic.
