with Éilis Murphy of Folded Leaf for Culture Night

We are delighted to be participating in Culture Night this year, we have a gorgeous evening planned with an experimental drawing & bookbinding workshop with Éilís Murphy

In this free workshop, participants will create a variety of handmade books. Using the theme ‘Thinking through drawing’ as inspiration, we will start with experimental drawing/walking exercises creating a series of sketches, mappings and more. We will then bind these loose sheets into simple folded books, developing them into unique artist’s books.

You will learn how to use basic book binding tools and the principles of bookbinding including grain direction gluing and folding tips. You are encouraged to bring along any decorative paper that you are happy to cut up.

All materials will be provided, places are limited and suitable for adults only.
