We had great excitement at the Galway County Council Cathaoirleach’s Gala Ball, when Interface was awarded the Cathaoirleach’s award in the Arts and Culture category. The judges remarked:
“An excellent arts programme and group, with ongoing community engagement, who are availing of local, national, and international opportunities of various scales. The level of peer support and professional development of artists is evident throughout their work and the nomination process.”
We are very grateful to the Galway Co Co for their support of our work and for this recognition. It was a very special evening, meeting so many fantastic people who are engaged in important voluntary projects around the county, and it was great to see honour given to these people for their work, as well as posthumous awards to Saoirse Ruane and Martin Horgan. We were delighted that our friends at Connemara Green won the Environmental and Climate Action Award. Needless to say much gallivanting was done!
