Ralph Gelbert (born 1969, Germany) is a contemporary artist who lives and works between Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany; Dublin, Ireland; and Cape Town, South Africa. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence after completing earlier studies in Hamburg. Active as an independent artist since 1996, Gelbert has developed a sustained international exhibition practice. Since 2007, he has also been engaged in teaching at art academies and universities. His work has been shown widely in national and international exhibitions and is included in important public and private collections.
