Ena Lavelle

I am a self taught artist living in Connemara. I am intrigued by visual memories and experiences and their impact on the viewers psyche. My professional practice informs my response to the world around me and I interpret that world using both abstract and figurative responses.

My work specifically explores the Connemara landscape with its rich diversity of flora and fauna, boglands and beautiful beaches. I wish to share with the viewer the sensation of the changing light, panoply of colour, the rich textures and atmosphere of the various visual stimuli that I respond to using acrylic paint and mixed media.
My work can be found in private collections in Ireland and internationally.

I have participated in the Inishlackan-project, Connemara over the last 10 years. Exhibitions include Cairde, Hamilton Gallery, Sligo and Enlighten 13 Exhibition, Hambly & Hambly, Enniskillen.
