Born Galway 1956. Studied marine biology ay the University of Galway. After career in the mariculture industry, Coll became a full time sculptor at the age of 27. Since then he has been recognised as a leading figurative sculptor receiving awards and commissions including monuments to the poet Patrick Kavanagh, writer Brendan Behan and musician Luke Kelly in Dublin. He has exhibited in Europe and the USA and is represented in the collections of Bank of Ireland, The National Museum of Ireland, The National Library of Ireland, The University of Galway, Stanford University and Boston College, USA.
