Christine Prescott

Christine Prescott is a Visual Artist and Forest Bathing Guide. She is inspired by a sensorial experience of the natural world, which echoes through her practice. Strongly interested in the archaic power imbued in found materials Christine forms and crafts her finds into delicate sculptures and works on paper. Notions of time, healing, repetition, decay, and the spirit of place pervade her work. She is currently undertaking an investigation into our shared ecology through social practice within nature and is very curious to see how this will alter the course of her practice

Christine was reared in rural Australia and received a Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture) from the University of Southern Queensland, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art (Sculpture) from the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne. Her work has toured Australia and has been exhibited in Singapore, Indonesia, and Ireland. Christine has been residing in County Mayo since 2006, though the arid landscape of her past is still palpable in her work.
