Bryony Hussey is a visual artist and educator based in Connemara. Drawing and visual languages are the foundations of her practice. Using printmaking, still and moving image, and socially engaged art practices she explores belonging, meaning, and identity. Bryony has exhibited widely across billboards, public screens, porches, gardens, museums, galleries and festivals. She has taught and performed in Ireland, England and the US, exhibited and held residencies in Scotland, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Romania, and USA at Terrain Biennial (USA), Bradley University (USA), Cubitt Gallery (London), OFFM Public Art Panels (Frankfurt) and Palermo Gallery (Stuttgart).
Since returning to Ireland in 2022, Bryony has been kindly supported by Arts Council of Ireland and Galway County Council to focus on devised and collaborating with dancers and movement artists, articulating non-verbal bodily textures and everyday gestures through the body to co-create a physical gibberish and spacial grammar.
