Emma Zukovič

Emma Zukovic is a queer Irish-Macedonian interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker based in Galway. She graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design with a BA (Hons) in Printmaking in 2016. Her practice spans moving image, printmaking, and installation, exploring themes of memory, identity, and belonging through both personal and collective histories.

Rooted in her dual heritage and queer experience, her work draws on autobiographical and cultural narratives, often engaging with ideas of post-memory, displacement, and inherited histories.

Working with analogue and experimental processes including cyanotype and film photography, Zukovic combines these with sculptural and immersive elements. Her work often considers the domestic space as a site of tension, transformation, and resistance.

Her films have screened internationally and received multiple awards, including Best Short Documentary at the Reykjavik Film Festival, alongside further recognition at festivals in Montreal, Belgrade, and Turkey.

Recent projects include an ongoing body of work exploring Irish suffragette histories, incorporating moving image, constructed environments, and sound.

She has received funding from the Arts Council of Ireland and Galway City Arts Office. Residencies include Interface Inagh, Galway.
