Maryann Curran

Maryann Curran is an Irish visual artist who works from her studio in Co Down. As part of a successful career in tertiary art education she engaged in research exploring the synchronisation of art and science in education, while actively advocating for and promoting the importance of art in education. She holds a BA(Hons) Fine Art, an MA in Education and an MA in Art History. In 2018 she returned to full time art practice. Working primarily in paint, her current work uses the materiality of expressive, layered media to explore psychological landscapes shaped by personal experience and memory. This has involved an interdisciplinary approach looking into family history and the place of language and landscape in cultural and personal identity.
