‘ My work depicts the natural landscape around me, not the majestic views of Connemara but the bogs, the bog pools, the hedge rows, the trees. The work drifts between abstraction and naturalism. Some evoke a sense of naturalistic space others use flat abstract blocks of color to depict the peat bogs ,the water or the mountains.’
‘My current work is my immediate and visceral response to the ecological disasters unfolding across the world. Global warming, loss of habitat , land clearance and misuse are all problems here in Connemara as well, issues contemporary landscape artists will have to contend with in the future.’
“We must hear the suffering of nature”.
