John Maguire’s work is unique in style, using pattern and environmentally sourced colour to portray abstract concepts. He mainly engages in geometric abstract painting and recently in
digital design and printing. In general, throughout his work he converts colours of subjects and everyday scenes in to coded forms. He sometimes uses three dimensional assemblages in
support of his ideas. John’s work explores complex themes of Climate Change, Technology, Modern Communication and Connectivity.
Originally a Civil Engineer John followed his true vocation to obtain a BA (Hons)in Fine Art) from ATU Sligo in 2007. He presently lives in Westport Co Mayo.
