Helen Caird is a graduate of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (2011) with a BA (hons) in Fine Art (Painting) and is now a practising visual artist in Galway City and County.
She is currently an active member and board secretary of Artspace Studios, Galway City and the uachtarARTS Communtity Arts Group and committee member (and soon-to-be chairperson). Since 2014, Caird has been involved with the Terryland Forest Park Alliance in Galway City; since 2022 she has been operating as “Artist-in-Residence” with the Tuatha (Terryland Forest Park Project). Her illustrations which entail various native species of wildlife both flora and fauna may be seen on a number of information boards located throughout the park. Caird’s work, specialising in the areas of drawing, illustration and collage, predominantly explores environmental matters and the natural world, particularly the locality of where she currently resides in Connemara, Co Galway.
