She paints female portraits and female figures in a re-imagined landscape that revisit her grandfather’s photographic archive of the West of Ireland. Her work draws on this archive and on her own photographic material to compose paintings that provide a unique perspective of an invisible self-portrait, camouflaged by domestic props in her grandfather’s landscapes. Alongside this she has been documenting women in their domestic space, their interior lives from within the home looking out a familiar window to examine the charged psychological spaces they occupy & how this affects the female psyche and a publication of this project. She is the Education Co ordinator at Engage Art Studios and FET Tutor in Fine Art Drawing at Galway Technical Institute.
