Anne Marie Deacy is a sound artist and musician based in Co. Galway. Field recording is the foundation of her practice, and using various esoteric devices she explores the heard and unheard sounds of the landscape. She has exhibited, recorded and performed in Ireland, England, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Greece.
Anne Marie’s initial proposal was not only about having studio time and access to equipment but an opportunity to engage with the environment, create a sound map and sonically excavate the site through field recording techniques. Sticking to the themes within her initial proposal, this evolved into a residency that remotely explored the sonification of Interface.
