In my artistic practice, I work with the medium of sound. I use field recordings of the environment, urbanized and industrial landscapes as the main material, which can be recontextualized and reinterpreted through the techniques of slowing down, dissecting and deconstructing. I also assembly DIY sound tools and effects, like microphones and hydrophones, open source synthesizers and so on. Currently I’m writing my masters thesis in anthropology about indigenous activism and environmental issues, which is based on my fieldwork with native marine mammal hunters
of Chukotka. This research will be a scientific basis for the audio-visual project, which will bring together differing mediums within a sensory ethnography approach.
