The residency at Leitrim Sculpture Centre was a valuable opportunity for me. The atmosphere fostered connections with various artists present during my stay and I’m hopeful that future collaborations may arise. The Centre offered local expertise and the generous guidance of professionals. The artistic freedom and access to diverse workshops allowed me to explore new ideas, form new works for my future practice and exhibitions. During the residency, I focused on metal casting, specifically in aluminium. With models created during my time there and through discussions with Nick Hughes, my supervisor for metal casting, from whom I learned a great deal, we explored different methods. This deepened my understanding of the process and inspired new ideas and work for me.
