Gerri O Brien

Gerri O’ Brien’s artistic practice crosses the definable categories of Art, Craft and Design, where she predominantly employs hand-stitch to explore pertinent issues relating to the human condition and socio-political subjects including identity, encroachment, violation, disability, mental health and gender-based violence. Her work is also concerned with the where and when her work is made and the historical, social and political conditions that have created these conditions.
Her work has been included in a number of group exhibitions in Ireland including the RHA Annual Exhibition 2021-24 and 2026, the EU Parliament, Brussels, 2023, and Pulchri Studio, The Hague, in conjunction with Hamilton Gallery, Sligo in 2025 and 2026. Her solo exhibition, ‘Notes from the Interior’ was hosted by Nenagh Arts Centre, Co. Tipperary in 2025.
