Angela Williams

Angela Williams came to live in Letterfrack, Connemara from the North of England in 1970s, returning to Connemara where her mother was a native.
Angela’s interests lie in making objects and painting for the love of the materials, specifically wood, paint and pigments, gold leaf and colour.
For sculptural works she forages from her environment and natural woodlands, constantly on the lookout for materials that nature offers up. Finding appropriate materials for such artworks she finds inspiring, she says she strives to find the palette of the land in her environment and intends that her work reflects this.

Angela was awarded an Artist’s Bursary by Galway County Council 2020. A painting in Egg Tempera was accepted by the R.U.A 139th annual exhibition, 2020. Angela was long-listed for the R.D.S Visual Arts Award in 2017.

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.
